BP Pulse joins ChargeHub's Passport Hub roaming network in North America

More than 850 charging points at over 95 locations become reachable through the ChargeHub app and other Passport Hub partners.

BP Pulse has joined ChargeHub's Passport Hub roaming platform, bringing more than 850 charging points at over 95 locations in North America into the network, the companies said.

The integration lets drivers find, access and pay for charging at BP Pulse sites through the ChargeHub app. The same sites also become reachable for users of other e-mobility service providers (eMSPs) and automakers connected to Passport Hub, so access extends beyond ChargeHub's own users.

Passport Hub is ChargeHub's roaming platform, which links charging networks with mobility service providers and vehicle manufacturers. It is designed to simplify access to public charging by letting drivers keep using their existing apps and services across multiple networks instead of registering separately with each charge point operator.

Sujay Sharma, BP Pulse's VP of EV Charging for the US, said the partnership expands access to the BP Pulse network for drivers on the road through trusted roaming partners, and that charging networks working better together benefits the entire EV ecosystem and is an important step toward accelerating EV adoption.

Simon Ouellette, CEO of ChargeHub, said that when a network like BP Pulse chooses to connect through Passport Hub it is a strong signal that the hub model has become the way roaming gets done in North America. Because it is a hub, he added, the impact goes beyond the ChargeHub app: eMSPs and automakers in the ecosystem can now offer their drivers access to BP Pulse fast chargers through the connection they already have.

The announcement states the number of charging points and locations but does not break down how many are rapid or ultra-rapid chargers, nor whether all 850-plus points are available through every Passport Hub partner.

For BP Pulse, the agreement widens the reach of its North American charging network by making its infrastructure available through a broader set of third-party platforms. For ChargeHub, it adds another charging network to its roaming ecosystem.
